How this building block behaves in a working plant, and where it fits.
Specified for the process, not the catalogue
A sensor that is accurate on a datasheet can be useless in place. Process temperature, vibration, washdown chemicals, ambient humidity and the material being measured all decide whether a reading stays trustworthy after six months.
We specify for the conditions the instrument will actually live in, which sometimes means a more expensive device and sometimes a cheaper one that suits the duty better.
Mounting decides accuracy
More measurement problems come from installation than from the instrument. A flow meter too close to a bend, a thermocouple measuring pipe wall instead of fluid, or a vibration sensor on a panel rather than the bearing housing will each produce confident, wrong numbers.
Straight lengths, immersion depth and mounting rigidity are part of the design, not an installation detail to be sorted out on site.
Calibration you can show
A reading is only evidence if you can show the instrument was calibrated. Records are handed over with the installation and a re-calibration interval is set per instrument, based on drift characteristics and how much the decision depends on it.
For regulated production this is not optional, and it is far easier to establish at installation than to reconstruct later.

Common questions
- Why do our existing readings drift?
- Most often mounting rather than the instrument — wrong position, insufficient immersion, or measuring the wrong thing. That is the first place we look before recommending replacement.
- How often should instruments be calibrated?
- It depends on the instrument’s drift behaviour and how much rests on the reading. A billing or compliance measurement needs a tighter interval than an indicative one.
- Can you add sensors without modifying the machine?
- Often yes. Clamp-on flow, external vibration and current-based load monitoring avoid breaking into the process, though they trade some accuracy for that.
