What this sector asks of a control system

Buildings collect control systems: HVAC from one contractor, lighting from another, metering from a third, none of them talking. We integrate what is installed into a single supervisory and reporting layer, so a portfolio can be operated and compared rather than visited.

Every engagement starts the same way: we walk the floor, read the existing drawings, and write down what is actually installed before anyone proposes a platform. The sector decides the priorities — the plant decides the design.

Integrating what is already installed

Replacing a working BMS is rarely justified. Most of the value is in connecting subsystems that already exist and giving them one supervisory view with consistent naming.

Consistent point naming across sites is the unglamorous prerequisite — without it, portfolio reporting compares things that are not comparable.

Control that follows occupancy

Buildings frequently condition space to a schedule set years ago rather than to how they are used now. Aligning operation to actual occupancy is usually the largest available saving and requires no new plant.

It needs occupancy data of some kind, and we would rather use what the building already has than add sensing for its own sake.

A portfolio you can compare

Managing buildings one at a time hides the outliers. Normalised reporting across a portfolio — per square metre, per degree day, per occupied hour — shows which site deserves attention first.

That ranking is what turns a diffuse energy programme into a short list of specific jobs.

Common questions

Do we need to replace our BMS?
Usually not. If it controls adequately and exposes data, the gain is in the layer above it. We would rather tell you that than sell a replacement.
Can you work across mixed vendors and generations?
Yes — that is the normal condition. Some very old controllers are genuinely closed, and we identify those early rather than discovering them mid-project.
How many sites make this worthwhile?
The comparison value starts around a handful of buildings. Below that, single-site optimisation is usually the better investment.
