About ASKworX Smart Automation LLP

Ground to Cloud Automation.

ASKworX Smart Automation is an industrial automation and digitalisation engineering company headquartered in Bengaluru, India. We design, build, program, commission and support automation systems for manufacturing plants across process and discrete industries.

What we do

From the terminal block to the dashboard

One discipline runs into the next. That is deliberate — it is also the reason our projects do not stall at a handover.

ASKworX

Ground to Cloud

Built on experience. Delivered with innovation.

We begin where the process actually happens. Sensors and instrumentation measure it, panels distribute the power, and PLCs hold the logic that keeps a line deterministic and safe. That layer is unforgiving: it either runs on every shift or it does not, and no amount of software above it can hide a weak foundation.

Above it sits supervision — SCADA and HMI screens designed around the decisions an operator makes at 3 a.m., not around a vendor’s template. Then the industrial network and gateways move the signals off the floor without exposing the control system to the internet, and the cloud layer turns them into trends, alarms, and reports.

At the top we build the software that people actually open: operations dashboards, custom ERP and CRM systems, mobile apps for field teams, and messaging automation that puts an alarm in the right engineer’s hand within seconds. Because the same team owns every layer, the data model agreed at the panel is the one the dashboard reads.

Who we are

The company was founded by A. Shravan Kumar, whose initials give ASKworX its name and its operating principle.

ASK

is what the client brings to us.

worX

is the engineering we put behind it.

Whatever a company asks, we engineer those works and deliver the best solution in automation and digitalisation.

That is not a tagline. It is our scope of work.

Our philosophy

Most plants do not have an automation problem. They have a fragmentation problem.

01One vendor supplies the panel.
02Another writes the PLC logic.
03A third sells a SCADA licence.
04A fourth promises an IIoT dashboard.

Each one owns a box, nobody owns the outcome, and the plant manager is left integrating it himself.

ASKworX was founded to close that gap. We take single-point engineering responsibility for the entire chain — from the sensor in the field to the report on the management screen. We call it Ground to Cloud Automation.

The framework

The Ground to Cloud Framework

Four layers, engineered as one chain. Scroll down through them the way the data travels up.

GroundField & Power Layer

Everything the process is actually measured and driven by, and the power that feeds it.

  • Instrumentation
  • Field wiring
  • Panel design and manufacturing
  • Power distribution
  • Surge and safety protection
  • Drives and motion hardware

ControlMachine Intelligence Layer

The logic that makes a machine deterministic, safe and repeatable on every shift.

  • PLC architecture and programming
  • HMI development
  • Servo and motion control
  • Safety logic
  • Robot integration and cell design

SupervisoryVisibility Layer

Where the plant becomes legible — what is running, what stopped, and what it produced.

  • SCADA design
  • Alarm and event management
  • Historian configuration
  • Recipe and batch control
  • OEE and downtime capture

CloudDecision Layer

Where operational data leaves the floor and starts changing decisions.

  • IIoT gateways
  • Wireless and remote connectivity
  • Edge data acquisition
  • Energy and production dashboards
  • MES-ready data structures
  • Predictive and condition monitoring

One partner. One design intent. One accountable team across all four layers.

Whether the requirement is a single control panel, a full greenfield line, a legacy retrofit, or a plant-wide digitalisation roadmap, the engineering discipline is the same.

Scale-appropriate solutions

A small value retrofit gets the same engineering rigour as a multi-crore line. The scope changes. The standards do not.

Philosophy

We understand the plant, not just the specification

A specification tells you what the machine should do. It does not tell you what the shift actually looks like, and that is the part that decides whether a system survives.

Right architecture before execution

We settle the control logic, network topology and data model before anyone writes code, because a build without a documented target is a build that keeps moving.

Practical, shop-floor-friendly solutions

Systems are designed for the realities of 24/7 operation — maintained by your team, at night, under pressure, with the spares you actually stock.

Clean engineering and structured documentation

We design for reliability, maintainability and growth. Commented logic, as-built drawings and a real handover are written as the work happens, not afterwards.

We don't over-engineer. We engineer what works.

Method

How a deployment runs

Four stages, no surprises. Your line keeps running the whole way through.

01

Discovery & audit

We walk the floor, map your existing OT and IT infrastructure, and identify the specific constraints holding back throughput or visibility.

02

Logic architecture

We design the control logic, network topology, and data model before writing code, so the build has a documented target rather than a moving one.

03

Agile deployment

We integrate around live production in staged cutovers, so the line keeps running while the new system comes up beside it.

04

Support & scale

We hand over documented systems your team can own, then extend them — more lines, more sites, more software — as the results justify it.

Commitment

Engineering for reliability and growth

ASKworX bridges traditional automation with modern digital thinking. Five commitments hold across every engagement, whatever layer of the stack it starts at.

01

Consulting-first approach

We understand before we build.

02

Clean, scalable architecture

Systems designed for long-term reliability.

03

Practical execution

Solutions aligned with real plant realities.

04

Focus on documentation

Clear, structured records for easy maintenance.

05

Future-ready design

Data-ready infrastructure for your digital future.

Principles

What we hold to

Four commitments that decide how a job is scoped, built, and handed over.

Reliability before novelty

A control system is judged on the shift it does not stop. We choose the platform that will still be supportable in ten years over the one that demos best, and we prove behaviour under fault conditions before anyone celebrates a feature.

Documentation is the deliverable

Commented logic, as-built drawings, terminal schedules, address plans, and a maintenance handover are not paperwork at the end — they are written as the work happens. If your team cannot own the system after we leave, we have not finished.

Retrofit before replacement

Most plants are held back by their control layer, not their machines. Replacing the controls is usually a fraction of the cost of replacing the equipment, and it releases production data the original build never exposed. We propose the rip-out only when the retrofit genuinely cannot carry the load.

One team, floor to cloud

The same engineers who wire the panel design the dashboard above it. That removes the seam where most industrial projects fail — the handover between the automation vendor and the software vendor — and it means the data model is agreed once, not renegotiated per layer.

Our commitment

Manufacturing in India is moving from automation to intelligence. Machines that only run are being replaced by machines that report, predict and improve. ASKworX exists to carry our customers across that transition — practically, affordably and without disruption to output.

Tell us what you need. We will engineer it.
