What the work involves

The people who run your operation are rarely sitting at a desk — their plant should fit in their pocket. We build premium iOS and Android applications for both enterprise and consumer use: operator apps that surface line status and alarms, field-service tools that work offline, and customer-facing products polished enough to compete in the app stores. Every app is designed, built, and maintained in-house, connected to your existing systems through clean APIs, and shipped with the same reliability standards we bring to plant-floor software.

Designing for a hand, not a desk

Field and plant apps get used in gloves, in poor light, on a cracked screen, one-handed, while the person is doing something else. That changes the design: larger targets, fewer taps to the common action, and text that stays readable at arm’s length.

It also changes what goes on the first screen. An operator app should open on what is wrong right now, not on a menu.

Offline is the normal case

Coverage inside a plant or at a remote site is unreliable, so we treat offline as the default rather than an error state. Work is captured locally, queued, and synchronised when a connection returns, with conflicts resolved by rules agreed with you rather than by whichever device happened to sync last.

The person using it should never have to think about connectivity. They record what they did; the app deals with the rest.

Release and support

Shipping an app is not the end of it. Both stores change their requirements, operating systems update annually, and an app left alone eventually stops installing. We handle store submissions, review responses, and the maintenance releases that keep it working.

For enterprise apps that never go near a public store, we set up internal distribution so your IT team controls who gets what.

Common questions

Native or cross-platform?
It depends on what the app does. Cross-platform is efficient for content and forms; native is worth it when you need camera, sensor, background or offline behaviour to be dependable. We decide from your feature list, not from habit.
Do we need to publish to the app stores?
Only if it is for the public. Internal operator and field apps are usually better distributed privately through your own mobile management, which avoids review delays entirely.
Will it work without signal in the plant?
Yes. Data is captured locally and synchronised when a connection returns, with conflict rules agreed with you in advance so two devices editing the same record produce a predictable result.
What does it cost to keep running?
Budget for maintenance every year. Operating systems update annually and stores change requirements, so an unmaintained app degrades and eventually stops installing on new devices.
